It starts with an Initial Conversation
Like with so many business decisions, hiring a solar panel installer and finding our the costs to install solar panels for your business all starts with a conversation. We speak directly to you to best understand what your business is looking for in green energy solutions. For example, are solar panels on their own going to give your business the financial savings you may be looking for? Or do you need to look at complimenting this with a battery storage system. We have worked with a wide number of businesses across the UK who have solar panels, battery storage systems and EV charging installed so that they can maximise their green energy savings.
Site Survey
Once we have completed an initial conversation with you and have a better understanding of what your business needs, we conduct a site survey to identify any obstacles that need to be overcome. With the use of aerial drone surveys and 3D modelling software that can calculate projected daylight yields, we can conduct a site survey to assess what levels of daylight your commercial premises can expect, what access restrictions there are on site and what condition your existing roofing system is in.
Provisional Design & Pricing / Client Approval
Once we have completed the site survey, we can then process this to provide you with a provisional design and price for your commercial solar panel install. Depending on a variety of factors, there may be amendments required during this design phase which we can work through. Once you are happy with the design/layout and predicted solar energy projections for the solar panel installation, we can proceed forwards.
Structural Assessment
Before we can proceed with the installation of solar panels to your commercial premises, we need to ensure that your existing roof structure can take the additional weight of newly fitted solar panels. For this, we have to conduct a structural assessment of your roof. While there is some variation in weight between different brands of solar panel, a standard 60 cell solar panel can weigh between 18-20kg. While modern solar panels are becoming lighter and more efficient, this extra weight still needs to be within the structural limits of the roof.
Final Design & Price/ Contract Signing
Once you have confirmed the design/layout for the installation and we have completed the structural assessment, as long as there has been no ‘nasty surprises’, we will be able to confirm the final specifications and importantly, how much the commercial solar panel installation will cost. If you are happy to proceed, we can sign the final contract and move on to installing the new solar panel system.
