Glasgow Museum Resource Centre

Facing rising operational costs and a commitment to reducing their environmental footprint, Glasgow Museum sought a reliable and high performance solar photovoltaic (PV) system for their resource centre.

The project’s key requirements were to ensure the highest safety standards were met, while maximising energy production and integrating seamlessly with existing building systems.

Our Solution

We designed and installed a bespoke solar PV system that met all of the client’s needs. The system was meticulously planned to integrate seamlessly with the warehouse’s infrastructure, providing a long-term, sustainable energy solution.

The installation utilised SolarEdge technology, featuring its industry-leading DC safe features for enhanced fire safety and system protection. This was a critical component of the project, as the system was directly integrated with the client’s existing fire alarm system, enabling an automatic emergency shutdown in the event of an alarm.

Commercial Solar Installation

The physical mounting of the system was secured using a Renusol VS+ standing seam mounting system with specialised Kalzip brackets, ensuring the longevity and structural integrity of the installation on the warehouse’s roof.

High-efficiency, Tier 1 445W DMEGG modules were chosen for the panels, guaranteeing optimal energy conversion. The installation was powered by a SolarEdge SE100 inverter, selected for its reliability and its seamless compatibility with the SolarEdge optimisers on each panel.

The new solar PV system exceeds expectations, delivering significant energy savings and environmental benefits equivelant to 32.64 tonnes annual CO2 emissions. That’s the equivalent of 1,499 trees being planted – annually.

Based on the project’s successful implementation, our team have once again demonstrated a commitment to quality and client satisfaction. Their meticulous approach to design and installation while maintaining a key focus on safety, particularly the system’s integration with the fire alarm for an automatic shutdown, highlights our professionalism and foresight.
