As part of their commitment to sustainability and reducing operational costs, Wonderworld partnered with the Low Energy Services team to install a state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic (PV) system at their Falkirk facility so that the business can reduce their energy costs and provide a greener, more sustainable business that helps us all take a step closer to net-zero.

Solar Panel Project Design and Components

Our solar installers meticulously designed a 215 kWp solar PV system tailored to the specific needs of Wonderworld. The new solar system comprises the following key components:

Solar Panels: 495 high-efficiency 435W JA Solar panels, chosen for their reliability and performance.
Mounting System: Renusol mounting system, selected for its robustness and ease of installation on the available roof space.
Inverters: Three 60kW Solax inverters, ensuring optimal conversion of solar energy into usable electricity for the facility.

Installation Process

The installation process was seamless, thanks to the comprehensive planning and expertise of our 100% inhouse Low Energy Services team. The project was executed in several phases:

Site Assessment and Planning: Detailed site surveys and assessments were conducted to determine the optimal layout for maximum solar exposure and efficiency.
Design and Engineering: Using advanced software, our team designed the system to ensure it met all technical and regulatory requirements.
Procurement: All components were sourced from reputable manufacturers, ensuring quality and longevity.
Installation: The panels were mounted using the Renusol system, and the inverters were installed and configured for optimal performance.
Testing and Commissioning: The system underwent rigorous testing to ensure it was fully operational and performing as expected.
Site Cleaning: As with all of our solar installations, we ensured that the panels were all thoroughly cleaned of any dust that can be common on installation sites. This ensures maximum efficiency from day one.

Solar Panel Funding and Financials

The project at Wonderworld was funded through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SNRG Plant Based Power. This innovative financing model allowed Wonderworld to benefit from the solar installation without any upfront capital expenditure. Under the Solar PPA, we sell the generated power to Wonderworld at a predetermined rate, offering significant cost savings without the business having to pay for the installation. This is a great way for businesses to go green and benefit from solar installations without the upfront costs and allows them better protection against rising energy prices.
